About the exhibition
Nosotros los otros, brings together bodies of work from 2005 to the present, including Nazareth’s durational walk performances as well as photo, film, sculpture, and work on paper. Spanning continents and media, this is the most comprehensive overview of the artist’s practice to take place in the United States.
Taken as a whole, these bodies of work constitute the vast circular and interconnected pattern that Nazareth seeks out in his wanderings. Humanistic and insightful, his practice presents a radical horizontality between cultures and shared histories.
Challenges & outcomes
Preparing for the inaugural opening of Mendes Wood DM’s New York gallery was an intense yet rewarding challenge. With limited time to ready the space for the public, we worked collaboratively to deliver a landmark exhibition that solidified the gallery’s presence in New York’s vibrant new art district.
The space required extensive renovations under tight deadlines, involving seamless coordination with vinyl printers, architects, light designers, and technicians from our São Paulo gallery. The exhibition showcased both fine art and digital works, with customized installations tailored to fit the unique space.
Through dedication and teamwork, we overcame every challenge.
